Your Appointment with Destiny

John 15:16, You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

How would your life change if you knew for certain that God had a plan for you? That He had chosen you? Jesus taught His disciples these very truths on the night before His death. As He looked at them, He stressed that it wasn’t an accident that they had followed Him. No, in fact, He had chosen them!

When they realized these truths, the disciples could look back on their lives and think how they’d been called. Whether they had been fishermen, tax collectors, or something else, each of them had a story, specific skills, and life experiences. Jesus was assuring them that their lives hadn’t been accidents. He had called and chosen each of them at specific times, for specific tasks, so they could do specific things and “go and bear fruit.”

Today, this same principle is true for you. Remember that God has chosen you. You were created to fulfill a special destiny! There are special assignments He’s given to no one else but you. You have special gifts and abilities that are uniquely yours. You are in special situations because He has called you to be His ambassador, His representative.

You may be facing challenges and difficulties today, but God is standing by your side, ready to help you. Continue to have faith in Him. Focus on fulfilling your destiny. Seek to “produce fruit that will last.”

You can rejoice and be confident. Approach Him in prayer, knowing that “the Father will give you whatever you ask for,” when you ask in the name of Jesus. Remember: You are special in His sight!
